Ana Duato visits a school in Haiti

The UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador of Spain, Ana Duato, visited a school in Léogâne (where the epicenter of the earthquake in Haiti took place). Duato said during his visit that she sees "strength and desire to make a new Haiti."

At the school École de la Redemption, which currently has tents to replace the crumbling classrooms, children came with their usual uniforms and shared words and games with Ana Duato with confidence. She stayed for a week visiting Unicef projects in Haiti and having first-person experiences of those people who were affected.

The return to the school of these children, according to Unicef, is an important step for Haiti, and it is intended to not only take back students who came before the earthquake, but also join others that did not before. The UN agency also highlights the illusion that their families have to return to the situation before the earthquake.
